“Claws” actress and comedian Niecy Nash came out as queer on social media and declared her marriage to singer Jessica Betts.
The”Claws” star took to societal websites on Monday to show she and singer Jessica Betts have married.
Nash and Betts posted Twitter and Instagram photos Monday of the outside wedding ceremony at a lush garden setting.
Nash, whose legal first name is Carol, captioned the photo”Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” adding a rainbow emoji and the hashtag #LoveWins.”
“I have an entire Wife,” Betts wrote in her own caption.
“Mrs. Carol Denise Betts,” Nash captioned an Instagram picture of herself and Betts holding hands and smiling. In the photograph, Nash wears a white wedding gown with a long veil supporting her, while Betts dons a button-down apparel shirt, pants, sneakers, vest and tie.
While Nash never publicly discussed her sexuality, she did say that her divorce from Tucker assisted her truth.
“Trust that it is so much easier to walk in your truth than it is to run towards a lie,” Nash said in the 2020 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards Luncheon, according to People. “Make a decision about what you know. You have ta own the part you play, that’s important. You gotta forgive others and yourself.”
Nash and Betts kept their relationship personal over time, becoming close friends after she wed Tucker. Betts shared the same picture on her Instagram, writing,”I have an entire Wife.”
In accordance with the Los Angeles Times and Out magazine, the marriage announcement is the first time Nash has come out openly as part of the LGBTQ community.

The news comes less than a year after Nash declared that she and husband Jay Tucker were divorcing.
Nash also took to her Instagram Story Monday to discuss a photo of Betts together with her arm around her. The actress added the hashtag”#PlotTwist” along with a rainbow emoji.
In a different Instagram post Monday, Betts shared her 2018 love song”Catch Me” composing”C A U G H T” with a ring emoji. In the tune, Betts croons about needing a person to catch her when she falls:

Betts sang the song with Nash on the set of”Claws,” where the singer had a role throughout the Season 2 finale. In one of Betts’ Instagram posts from 2018, Nash wears a wedding dress for her costume since Betts accompanies her on the guitar. Nash was married to Tucker at the moment, whom she wed in 2011. In a joint statement, the superstar announced the couple’s separation in October 2019.
“I need to give a special shout to @niecynash1,” Betts captioned the 2018 video. “This lady of God, I am blessed and honored in her existence. She is anointed and appointed”
Several celebrities left remarks on Nash’s post, sharing their congratulations and enthusiasm for the newlyweds. Composed Halle Berry. “Bless this beautiful union!!”
“Empire” star Taraji P. Henson wrote that she was”so happy” for Nash.
“May God bless your lovely union!” Wrote director Ava DuVernay. “Love you!”
“American Horror Story” star Sarah Paulson wrote that she loved Nash”so much,” that she emphasized with a slew of heart and hands emojis.
“You look GORGEOUS!” Mindy Kaling wrote. “Congratulations!! So much love to you !”

Nash opened up about seeking happiness in a speech at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards in February.
“The untethering in my family’s beliefs, the net’s expectations and my marriage ending caused me so much pain. … I am about to shoot my 50th trip around sunlight. I’m the most grateful because I know myself better and more completely than I ever have before,” she explained. “I allow my daughters watch me work through the entire (divorce), as of them, I want them to get up each and every day and choose themselves.”
