UK consolidation for Air Transat
GLASGOW AND Manchester Airports have temporarily been merged into a single service by Canadian leisure company, Air Transat. Between August 29-October 29, the Montréal-based firm operates the twice-weekly connection as a triangular routing. The flight departs Toronto/Pearson firstly for Scotland, before continued to Manchester in northwest England. The route is plied by Air Transat’s six-strong fleet of Airbus A321neos.
As we went to press,Air Transat’s global operations consisted of ten links from Montréal and five from Toronto. The latter is currently linked with Air Transat’s sole other UK gateway, London/Gatwick on a thrice-weekly service using A321neos, as destinations are slowly reintroduced following the charter airline’s coronavirus grounding — that lasted 112 days until July 23.
