UK consolidation for Air Transat

GLASGOW AND Manchester Airports have temporarily been merged into a single service by Canadian leisure company, Air Transat. Between August 29-October 29, the MontrĂ©al-based firm operates the twice-weekly connection as a triangular routing. The flight departs Toronto/Pearson firstly for Scotland, before continued to Manchester in northwest England. The route is plied by Air Transat’s six-strong fleet of Airbus A321neos.
As we went to press,Air Transat’s global operations consisted of ten links from MontrĂ©al and five from Toronto. The latter is currently linked with Air Transat’s sole other UK gateway, London/Gatwick on a thrice-weekly service using A321neos, as destinations are slowly reintroduced following the charter airline’s coronavirus grounding — that lasted 112 days until July 23.
