Aussie firefighters show some skin in support of their Furry Friend (and feathered) friends

Firefighters in Australia are donating their time–and their abs–for a fantastic cause. Since catastrophic wildfires swept through the continent earlier this year, destroying a record-breaking 46 million acres and injuring almost 3 billion creatures, first responders that there have stepped up to support the relief efforts by posing with some of their favorite animals for the Australian Firefighters 2021 Calendar (australianfirefighterscalendar.com). “It has been a very emotional year–all our firefighters saw the devastation of wildlife up close,” claims calendar director David Rogers, 52. Featuring Jack the Red Kangaroo, Tink the Koala and Bubba the Duckling, amongst others, the calendar has already sold over 7,000 copies and raised over $15,000 for animal hospitals and rescues. “We are in a position to help so many creatures,” says Rogers,”it’s been extraordinary.”
